My outdoor lessons

If the weather allows I love having my part of lessons outdoors. Certainly, it also depends on the topic I teach that day. If for example, I teach general knowledge like what shadow is, plant parts, living non-living things and etc. We also play some games in outdoors which help kids to reduce stress, improve moods, boost concentration and increase a child's engagement at school.  Sometimes I organize performance days outside of school. On a performance day, kids tell poems, sing a song, perform dance and present it in a public. These help young learners to overcome their fears of performing in a public and boost their self-confidence. Below I want to share our last performance day on the first day of Ramadan.    Some research on outdoor learning. I believe that outdoor learning, or having some lessons outdoor, playing games outdoor during lessons is something new for our culture and traditional educational environment. Our culture got used to follow strict rules...

The LMS I chose

I thought teaching English to kids online using STEAM is impossible unless I bumped into this wonderful site.  I first heard about seesaw when my lecturer recommended it to me, I had no idea that I would be amazed. Eurica! That LMS was the one that I was looking for! Surprisingly, it had some science activity exercises which could be done safely and independently by pre-K students. I was so happy that remote learning can be such fun, and science-technology,  engineering, art, and math can be done in remote mode. As I teach pre-K, the LMS that I was about to choose had to be colorful, and engaging. Among all LMSs, I chose the Seesaw because it met all the needed requirements. There are a lot of fun activities and it is a special learning management tool for kids. Some of my students who did the exercises were very interested in the activities created on the seesaw.   I decided to use seesaw as an additional learning tool for my students. However, I believe this online...

Article review

During Our course in ILTEP, we went through many articles about technologies in education, learning theories in the digital era, and online learning with a variety of LMSs that help to learn to be effective in an online mode. The article that I want to reflect on is about general learning theories and connectivism theory which is recognized as a learning theory for the digital era. It is undeniable that the need for online learning is increased rapidly during quarantine time last two years in my country. In western countries this mode of teaching is not new but, here in Uzbekistan, the need for qualitative online teaching methods is indisputable. During my lessons in ILTEP, we learned about the theory of connectivism which is known as a theory that defines online learning. There were three main theories behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism in the field of education. They were developed in the beginning of 20 th century far before the technological age. Those times teache...

Technology in my classroom

Now, I would like to share my experience of using technology in my classes. If you are a preschool teacher the technological tools are mainly I pad or interactive boards. Online LMS’s are rarely used. Small kids might have some difficulty managing instructions independently. That is why it is better to use the super easiest LMS that mommies and their little ones can access and operate easily. I use mainly interactive boards during my lessons to watch videos to better understand the topic. The videos may be about weather songs, greeting songs, some facts about the rainbow, living and non-living things, and much general knowledge about the world which surrounds us .                          As an additional tool to work on at home, I shared with my students an abcmouse.com ...
